Basement Framing Work: Curves, Arches, and Vaults
These photos show basements at the framing stage, before drywall covers anything, when every line is still in view: a curved wall that holds its shape, an arched opening, a vaulted hallway ceiling. They come from the more than 1,200 jobs LX Construction has completed.
A curved wall still stands on a basement slab, and across much of the Front Range that slab sits on expansive soil. When the floor can rise and fall, the walls built on it need room to move, so the shape and the movement get planned together.
